Ancestor Candle Offering

Across cultures and generations, people have used fire as a way of remembering those who came before — offering light, gratitude, and acknowledgment to ancestral presence without expectation or demand.

Within Earth Bhakti, the Ancestor Candle offering is held as a symbolic act of remembrance and attention, not as a ritual of intervention, healing, or reconciliation across lineage.

When you request an Ancestor Candle, two candles are prepared and lit as gestures of honor — one acknowledging maternal lineage and one acknowledging paternal lineage. These candles are not worked on behalf of your ancestors, nor do they summon, interpret, or act upon ancestral forces. They simply mark a moment of presence and respect.

The flame serves as a focal point for reflection — allowing you to hold memory, gratitude, grief, or curiosity without attempting to alter the past or direct outcomes.

What to Expect

  • Two candles lit as symbolic offerings

  • An opening photograph marking the lighting of the candles

  • A closing photograph once the candles have completed their burn

No readings, messages, or interpretations are offered. Any meaning that arises remains personal and your own.

Candles may be lit in relation to natural cycles such as the New Moon or Full Moon as a matter of rhythm and timing, not as a claim of heightened ancestral access or efficacy.

Sharing Context (Optional)

If you wish, you may include names, places, or family lines you hold in mind as part of this offering. This information is received as context and held with confidentiality, not as instruction or petition.

A Closing Reflection

Ancestor candles within Earth Bhakti do not promise healing, protection, guidance, or resolution across lineage. They are offered as moments of quiet acknowledgment — a way of saying you are remembered without asking for anything in return.

The fire does not work across time.
It simply burns.
